Prof Paris Tekkis

Professor Tekkis qualified from Nottingham University in 1994 with postgraduate training at St Mark’s and St Mary's Hospitals and The Cleveland Clinic. In 2003 was awarded the Hunterian Professorship and MD(Res) degree by the University of London for the work on Biostatistics in Surgery; currently used by the Department of Health for quality assurance in colorectal surgery. He is internationally respected for the work in advanced rectal cancer, robotic colorectal surgery and re-operative surgery for inflammatory bowel disease. He has supervised 35 MD/PhD studentships, published >330 peer-reviewed articles with 20,000 citations. He has contributed to 25 books and has given >350 presentations and lectures in 30 countries.
